Ahola offers a competitive employee benefits package targeted at supporting the personal needs of our employees and their families. The Company is very proud in providing a quality package designed to attract, retain and reward our employees for length of service.

 

Eligibility

 

Regular Ahola Employees that work a minimum of 25 hours a week are entitled to the following benefits after they meet their eligibility period. Most of our employee benefits begin the first day of the month following your date of hire.

 

Summary of Employee Benefits

 

After you become an employee of the Ahola Corporation you will receive an employee handbook that describes our employee benefits in greater detail. The following is a brief summary of what we have to offer:

 

  • Vacation Time:
    Ahola recognizes the need for time away from work for rest, relaxation, and personal pursuits. Full-time and part-time regular employees are eligible for paid vacation time according to a schedule that takes into account your length of service with the Company.

 

  • Personal Time:
    Full-time and part-time regular employees are eligible for paid personal days to be used during time of sickness or to attend to personal issues after they have completed 6 months of service.

 

  • Holidays:
    Includes New Years Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Day After Thanksgiving and Christmas Day.

 

  • Bereavement Leave:
    One to three paid days off during the time of a death.

 

  • Basic Life and Accidental Death & Dismemberment Insurance (AD & D):
    Ahola provides employees with a group term life and accidental death and dismemberment Insurance coverage without medical review.

 

  • Short Term Disability Coverage:
    Disability income is provided for our employees for 13 weeks. The short-term disability coverage was designed to pay you a portion of your weekly earnings in the event you cannot work for a short period of time due to an accident or sickness.

 

  • Family Medical Leave:
    If the need arises and you meet eligibility requirements, you can take an approved Family Medical Leave in order to take care of yourself or a sick family member, or when a child is born or adopted.

 

  • Medical Plan:
    The Company in some cases pays for the coverage in full and the employee can pay any balance on a pre-tax basis. The Medical Plan is a Traditional Indemnity Plan with Medical Mutual of Ohio, which gives you the opportunity to pick a physician or hospital at the time of service. The medical plan covers the cost of most services at 80% after an annual deductible of $250 for individuals and $500 for families. A prescription drug card is included with the medical coverage and has a small co-payment.

 

  • Dental Plan:
    The Company in some cases pays for the coverage in full and the employee can pay any balance on a pre-tax basis. The dental insurance is a comprehensive dental plan, which covers preventative, basic, and restorative services at 100%, 80%, and 50% respectively. Orthodontia is also covered at 50% to a maximum of $1,000 for dependent children.

 

  • Vision Plan:
    The Company in some cases pays for the coverage in full and the employee can pay any balance on a pre-tax basis. The Vision Plus Exam Plan provides coverage to help protect and care for your eyesight with the option to use a preferred eye doctor at the time of service. When you use a network eye doctor eye exams are covered in full after a $25 co-pay and glasses and contact services are discounted from 15% to 20%. Certain Laser Eye Surgery are discounted 20% to 25% for pre-testing, surgery and follow-up care when you use a network participating surgeon.

 

  • Employee Banking Program:
    Employees who have their payroll check direct deposited with our Company sponsored bank are entitled to special banking services at a discount. You can receive a free checking account with no maintenance fees regardless of account balance. Discounts on loans and other banking services are included as well in the program.

 

  • Employee Assistance Program (EAP):
    Participation in the dental and vision program automatically enrolls you in Work-Life Matters EAP. Work-Life Matters is a confidential support service to help employees and their families when they need support services to assist with a variety of life issues – from family care, stress, depression or addiction. Legal advice is included at a 25% discount off consultations for real estate, living wills, and estate planning to name a few.

 

  • Supplemental Life Insurance:
    Additional group term and AD &D insurance may be purchases by employees in increments of $10,000 to a maximum of $150,000 (not to exceed 3 times your annual earnings). The first $100,000 is not subject to any medical underwriting.

 

  • Dependent's Life Insurance:
    Employee’s can purchase term life insurance to cover their spouse or dependent children.

 

  • Flexible Spending Accounts:
    Employees can set aside pre-tax dollars for certain anticipated medical and dependent care expenses not covered by their medical, dental and vision plans.

 

  • 401(K) Retirement Plan:
    Regular employees are eligible to participate in the 401(k) retirement plan, which offers you a plan for long-term savings to supplement your Social Security benefits at retirement. Employees can contribute from 1% to 15% of their total pay on a pre-tax basis up to a maximum of $15,000 (for the calendar year 2009). Participants receive a matching contribution on the first 6% they contribute.
